Suitable nutrition for your pet depends widely on who you talk to, but if you have done any homework online about good dog food, you'll know that "Orijen" dog food is one of the best dog foods you can get! There are other foods that are rated just as highly as Orijen (6 star), but none of them are currently available in NZ, so we are very proud to present this wonderful food to those local to Dunedin!
Why is Orijen so good? It contains 70% premium meat ingredients (all human grade, and fresh [never frozen and NO preservatives!] freerange or wild caught meat); 30% fruits, vegetables, and botanicals (fibre and roughage as well as low in carbohydrates and high in natural antioxidents to aid in digestion and general wellbeing); and 0% grain (dogs cannot digest grain. End of story! Grain is used as a cheap filler in other dogs foods but goes straight through, undigested by dogs). Orijen is given the highest possible rating by the (unbiased!) website www.dogfoodanalysis.com as well as winning their worldwide "Petfood Of The Year 09-2010"! Senior Dog Formula; Contrary to what some other brands promote, lower protein may actually be harmful in the diet of a senior dog! They do require fewer calories and carbohydrates though, as those are the primary contributor to obesity and diabetes in todays senior dogs and Orijen seniour formula caters to this. Please note that as we have literally only just gotten our first order in stock, we cannot provide all the bag sizes and varieties yet. If there is anything you are interested in specifically we will certainly stock it for you if we don't already, as we are very proud to be offering this food to Dunedin! To enquire about prices please feel free to give us a call or pop in and have a look. We have had to add a small (no more than $3) charge ontop of the RRP advertised on the orijen website to cover the high costs of shipping, but this still is a much cheaper option for our locals to be able to buy this incredible food direct from us. SPECIAL DEAL FOR DOG SHOW GO-ERS
If you are from out of town but you are attending a dog show (breed show, agility/obedience or rally-o) in the Dunedin area, then Amy can meet you at the show and bring your order of Orijen dog food with her for no extra charge! You must contact Amy at The Dogs Body with plenty of notice ahead of time if you want this special deal though, as it will depend on the current stock available and timing etc. Payment must be made by cash or cheque apon delivery at the show grounds; no EFTPOS or credit card unless you are at buying directly from the shop!
